GST configuration and invoice numbering
Registration type, place of supply, default GST rate, numbering, LUT, e-invoicing and e-way bills.
Set your GST details
- 1Open Settings and scroll to GST configuration.
- 2Choose your Registration status: Unregistered, Registered (regular) or Composition scheme.
- 3Check your GSTIN and Place of supply (state) — this decides CGST + SGST vs IGST on every invoice.
- 4Pick a Default GST rate for new products.
- 5Choose Invoice numbering: Automatic (the system numbers each invoice when it is issued) or Manual (you type the number on every invoice).
- 6If you export under LUT, enter the LUT number and LUT valid until date — they print on export invoices so they are zero-rated without IGST.
- 7Click Save GST settings. You'll see “GST configuration saved.”
Tip: Manual invoice numbers can use up to 16 letters, digits, “/” and “-”, and each number can be used only once per financial year.
Turn on e-invoicing (IRN)
Needed once your turnover crosses the e-invoicing threshold. You create an API user on the government portal once, then enter it here.
- 1Log in at einvoice1.gst.gov.in with your GST login.
- 2Open API Registration → Create/Reset API user → choose Through GSP and pick the GSP shown in Settings. Choose an API username and password.
- 3Back in SelloraBook, tick Enable e-invoicing (IRN), choose the GSP / IRP provider, and enter the same Portal API username and Portal API password.
- 4Click Save GST settings, then Test connection.
Important: Practice mode creates a realistic-looking IRN only so you can try the workflow. It is not a real e-invoice and can't be used for GST compliance — switch to a real provider before going live.
Turn on e-way bills
- 1Log in at ewaybillgst.gov.in, go to Registration → For GSP, enable API, select the GSP and choose an API username and password.
- 2In Settings tick Enable e-way bills, set the Threshold value (₹ per invoice) and enter the E-way bill API username and password.
- 3Click Save GST settings, then Test connection.
Important: A practice-mode e-way bill number is not valid for moving goods. Vehicles can be checked at any point and need a real e-way bill.
